 The whole game series started back in 1997 with the first one released for Super Nintendo, titled "Harvest Moon". Since then there have been several releases of the Harvest Moon gaming series spanning four different gaming consoles. Harvest Moon 2 for Gameboy Color is a sequel to the initial Harvest Moon release for Gameboy. Unlike the Super Nintendo, Playstation, and Nintendo 64 versions, the Gameboy versions of the game allow you to choose between playing a girl or a boy farmer. Specifying wether you want to be male or female determines how parts of the game will be played. Harvest Moon 2's general storyline revolves around a small defunct village. The leader of the village determines that to stay alive, they must use the old abandoned farmland outside of town and turn it into an amusement park. Before this happens though, a brave farmer volunteers to take the rundown land and turn it into a productive farm. The leader of the village gives the farmer 3 years to accomplish this, else the village is doomed. The sequel is a definate improvement over the origional Harvest Moon for Gameboy. Some of the new changes include... New animal - Sheep have been added to the game. The cows and chickens remain from the old game. Each animal now has a pasture land set aside for them behind their barns where grass is grown. Village interaction - previously going to the village ment you just walked off the farm and *poof* you were at the village. Pressing the diagonal pad on the Gameboy took you to each shop. Now you have to walk an extra screen to get to the village, plus walk up to each shop's doorway to purchase items. The village also now has a Town Plaza where the townfolk will gather for events and generally hang out. The Mountains - Like in the larger console versions, there is now a small wooded area between the farm and the village where you can go to chop wood and pick berries. The Hot Springs have been moved there instead of being underneath the Tool Shed like in the first Harvest Moon game for Gameboy. Introduction: Your father has recently passed away, and among the people there to pay respects was a man by the name of Takakura. A close friend of your father's, Takakura tells you that he and your father both had the same dream: to find a small farm out in the country somewhere and run it together. They finally found an abandoned farm in a place called Forget-me-not Valley. Since your father has passed on, it is decided that you will take his place. Thus, you and Takakura come to the valley, ready to start a new life.
The game spans 30 years, divided into 6 chapters, each chapter being one to three years long. You can raise crops, raise animals, get married, raise a child, interact with the villagers, and much more.

Introduction: The first version of Harvest Moon to be released on the PSP console is simply a port of the Ps1 game Back To Nature and it's girl-version remake. When you start the PSP game you can choose which version of the Playstation 1 game you wish to play.
The boy version does not have an ending, but the girl side of the game will end once you have proposed marriage. The girl version was never localized into English until Natsume announced plants to translate the game in the company's E3 2007 game announcements.

The only thing added to the PSP version is the ability for you to make the game play in normal television 4:3 mode or wide screen to fill in the PSP's screen width. If you don't expand your view, the outside areas are filled with a grassy texture. You can switch between the two screen formats by triggering an option on the bookshelf inside your house.
The game was released a second time in Japan in November 2006 as part of the BEST collection, a series of popular PSP games relaunched with a lower price and a big yellow sticker slapped on the package.

Introduction: Magical Melody is the first big-console game to allow for players to select their gender at the beginning of the game. Previous to MM the only other games that did so were the second and third Gameboy color titles.
The story of the game is about the Harvest Goddess, who has sealed herself away because she believes nobody has love. Your character enters the scene because of a newspaper advertisement sent by Mayor Theodore, glorifying Flower Bud Village as a great place to start a farm. Once you discover the stone-form Goddess you are asked to find 101 Musical Notes that will become a melody to free her.
Magical Melody brings back characters from the Super Nintendo and Save The Homeland games, as well as a few new people. Each gender has up to 10 possible marriage candidates, plus the ambiguous-gender character Jamie, who will be the opposite gender of the character you play as.
This game is based on the second incarnation of the game, called Songs Of Happiness For World in Japan. The regular version of SoH was not released in English, but the For World version includes Jamie as a potential spouse, new emotion voices, much needed bug fixes, and a cheaper price. The game also increased in difficulty, as many items you could ship had their profits cut in half.

Besides the main character change, there have been some new features added into the game. You can now sell items directly to Won, the traveling salesman who lives with Zack the produce shipper. One of the main changes is the characters available for marriage. Instead of being 6 girls, you now have a choice of 8 different bachelors you can marry. Some bachelors are easier to court than others, and each has a number of requirements you must met before they'll even consider being married to you.
Friends of Mineral Town for Girl can connect up to the upcoming Gamecube game, A Wonderful Life for Girl. The interaction between the two games can unlock surprises and even new items to buy.

This puzzle game contains a Story mode, Mission Mode, Score Attack, and Freeplay mode. The object of the main story mode is to figure out why all of the crops on Sunny Island have begun to grow and overtake the island. You can play as 12 different characters from Island of Happiness, and each one has a little bit different take on the crop mystery. The story is the same, but different aspects of the story will be different from each point of view. Besides story mode, there is mission mode, which requires you to complete specific tasks in a set number of moves. This mode is very challenging, as each of the 12 playable characters has different levels of difficulty to their three given missions. As you go through the game, players will unlock bonus features like the music sound test, special artwork pictures, and graphics of the beloved Island of Happiness characters. The game also support multi-player local DS play, where you can play with up to 4 of your friends. If your friends don't have a copy of Frantic Farming, you can still play DS-to-DS by transfering a smaller version of the game to your friends' DS console. Each person can play as Mark, Natalie, Chelsea, or Elliot, and the field map is set for the Ranch. If your friends have their own copy of the game, then there are more options to play with. Japanese Frantic Farming This game was mentioned in the Japanese magazine Famitsu Weekly in July 2010. In Japan, the game will be called "ぼくものキャラクターズ 野菜でポン" (roughly Harvest Moon Characters Pop Vegetables). Marvelous has not published a final release date for the game yet. Should I buy this game? Most people are very sceptical of buying a puzzle game, but those who have bought the game are rather surprised at how much they enjoy Frantic Farming. The story and misson modes will keep players busy for awhile, as they try to collect all of the special pictures. The game also has a records area where you can keep track of how much of the game you have completed, your play times, top score, and other bits of information. The company who developed the game, Platinum Egg, worked on Puzzle De Harvest Moon. They have obviously learned from their prior experience with Harvest Moon and the puzzle genre, as Frantic Farming is a massive improvement over PdeHM. Past games they have worked on include Shining Force NEO and Red Ninja: End of Honor. |

S.I. uses the same graphics as Island of Happiness, but the game has a different scenario. You start out as a boy or girl farmer, who just moved to Ranch Island to start your new ranch life. Many of the villagers are already living on the island, but a small handful have to be unlocked as you restore the islands.
Your goal is to collect Sun Stones, which are used to bring the sunken islands up from the bottom of the ocean. There are a total of 100 Sun Stones that will restore 10 missing islands from the archipelago. Different islands have different features; the Mushroom Island grows wild mushrooms, the Volcano Island has the mine, and so on. Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar

Unfortunately the bazaar from yesteryear has now fallen into despair, and very few visitors now a days come to the weekly gathering. You have recently moved to Zephyr Town to take over the run down farm on the outskirts of town, and hopefully with your hard work and efforts, the town's bazaar can be revitalized and become grand once again. Besides growing crops on the farm, you can take care of cows, sheep, and chickens. The items that you grow on your farm can be processed by the town's three special windmills. The windmills are cared for by Isaac, and he will fix them as you work your way through the game. One windmill is for fermenting items such as pickles, cheese, and wine. Story
The land of Castanet is split into various musical districts. The main hub of commerce is Harmonica Town, where you will find shops and residences. Your farm is located in the Clarinet District, which is connected to Flute Fields (which connects to the Fugue Forest) and the Garmon Mine District. In the Garmoni area you'll find the Goddess' Pond.
The divine tree
There was once a divine tree in the middle of the Harvest Goddess' pond. One day the tree began to weaken, the air became stagnant, and the living creatures started to leave. The Goddess believes that the power from the Harvest King, who lives high in the heavens, can be used to help the wilted plant. If the 5 bells can be sounded by Harvest Sprites then the King should appear to help out the Goddess' divine tree.
The Harvest Goddess uses the last of her power to create the little sprites, and instructs the orange sprite, Finn, to search for someone who can help.
Features
The 4 main characters
Animal Parade allows players to choose the gender and style of the protagonist. You can play as the original Tree of Tranquility characters, or select one of the new styles. The game plays exactly the same no matter what main character is chosen.
Another change is the child system. In Harvest Moon Animal Parade, the spouse you choose will reflect on the looks of the children; if your spouse has blonde hair and green eyes, your children will also have the same traits. You can have two children instead of just one. Your spouse and children can help you with your farm work or other tasks that you assign.
It is also easier to befriend the animals, whether they're the livestock you purchase for your farm or the wild animals you can convert into house pets. Besides just the Horse and Ostrich, you can now ride the Cow, Sheep, and Goat livestock animals. The Sheep can produce Milk as well as the standard Wool. Animal Parade also has a seasonal circus run by Theodore from Harvest Moon Magical Melody. The circus animals will help you navigate Castanet if you help Theodore with his problem.
The passage of time has been slowed down. An hour in game takes about 3 minutes real time. Time also pauses when you go inside of buildings.

Jarvis tells you there is a Legend of the Clover, where little creatures called Harvest Sprites will make people happy. The sprites are suppose to live at the 4-clover windmill outside of town but they don't seem to live there anymore and no one can get the windmill to turn. It would be wonderful if there was something in Clover Town that would attract out-of-town visitors. |
